Project 2007 outgoing email config question.

sorry for the repeat post. My last one I accidently posted as a suggestion
instead of a question.

I am having trouble configuring outbound email on my project 2007 server. I
have found where to speciy my SMTP server, but I do nto see where I can
specify authentication information. I use an outsourced email service and
need to specify username and password when doign smtp relay.

help?

Hi Alex,

actually it is very easy, all you need to do is to enter the SMTP server (
and port ) and a "dummy" email address. The rest will be taken care of.

The only thing you need to take care of is that you need to configure the
Project Server mail settings AND SharePoint mail settings.
