Project 2007 Pro and Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filtering

Erik Klitzner

Hi,
I recently installed Project Pro 2007 on a PC with Office 2003. Over the
next few days I noticed that all of my junk mail was being delivered to my
inbox in Outlook. After a lot of investigation, I think I found the problem.
The Project 2007 install had loaded a new version of outfltr.dll and
outfltr.dat and Outlook 2003 was using it. I shut down Outlook and moved the
new versions of these files to a different folder. Outlook began delivering
junk mail to the junk folder again. Problem is, when I restart my PC, office
detects that the Project 2007 install has been changed and does a little
"install magic" to recreate the files I moved. I could not find anything to
tell me that this is a known problem. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Erik Klitzner

Hi Erik,

I can't lend much guidance here other than to throw out an other idea
that may be affecting the Junk Mail filtering in Outlook 2003. I have
seen sporadic reports that the install of the most recent updates to the
Junk Mail filter have been causing the junk mail filters to stop working
correctly. I've seen several suggestions to uninstall the latest update
and reinstall.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
