Project 2007 template easy question

After you read this question, you'll realize why my name is what it is. I set
up a homebuilding schedule on Project 2007 and I named it "Construction
Schedule template". Now I want to copy that template and rename it for each
individual house I am building. When I click on the template and copy it to
my "homebuilding schedules" folder, every home's schedule changes every time
I make a change on only one. How do I copy my template and rename it to
individual houses? Besides being pc dummy, I could have picked a better
profession, too, than homebuilding....

pc,
If you want to preserve a file as a template, you should use Save As and
then select the file of type to be "template" (it will have an .mpt
extension). Whenever you want to customize that template for a
particular project, open the template and customize it as necessary. A
normal save of that customized file will be an .mpp file. No need to
copy anything.

You can also create your base file and then save it as a regular .mpp
file. If you want to customize it, use Save As when you are done and
give it a new name. The original file will remain unchanged, just like a
template file.
