Project 2007 - Track minutes vs. days

M

Maria Maz

I need to track my project by minutes, not days.

I have a project that will span approx 5 days. There are a multitude of
tasks that need to be complete within a given day. Can I track by minutes
instead of days?

I've changed the duration to minutes, but that isn't exactly what I'm
looking for.

1.) Need calendar to indicate minutes not days
2.) Need a Date column as well as Start/Finish columns to track by minutes,
so it can be tracked on the calendar

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Maria

I already answered your question the first time you asked it. See my reply

Dale,

Yes, thank you, I did follow your advice and it did help. I reposted my
question, but added more detail.

I still need to find a way to have my calendar show minutes/hours. My
calendar still tracks by day, but I need it to display it down to
minutes/hours.

Thanks,
Maria

To see the time of day a task occurs, such as February 20th at 8:15 AM,
click Tools - Options - View. Click the Date Format pick list at the top of
the page, choose the 1/28/02 12:33 PM format, and then click the OK button.
To see the Gantt Chart in minutes, click the Zoom In button on the Standard
toolbar until you zoom the timescale to the finest level of detail, which is
Hours Over Quarter Hours. This level of zoom allows you to see 15-minute
time blocks. You cannot zoom the timescale down to individual minutes. Is
that what you mean by "I still need to find a way to have my calenar show
minutes/hours"? Let us know.

Hi Maria

I will just add on to Dale's response.

You may format your timescale to have 'minutes' in bottom tier and 'days' in
middle tier with two tier system. For this go to Format > Timescale, in
Middle tier select the unit 'days' and select the appropriate label. In the
Bottom tier select the units 'minutes' and select the appropriate label. Now
if you are tracking in range of 10 minutes you may increase the count to 10
and in the bottom tier so that each division in that tier would show 10
minutes.

Accordingly customise the Timescale.

I hope it helps.

Dale, Vanita & Rod,

Thank you all for your help. Zooming in on the calendar solved my problem
and allows me to see the detail I need to see.

THANKS!!!!!
Maria
