Project 2007 & Visio 2003 on same machine, can't import timeline d

Is there some bug that prevents this from working? I have colleagues that
have Project 2000 and Visio 2000 on their machines, and the import/export
wizard seems to work just fine.

I need to be able to import milestones from MS Project 2007 in to a timeline
in Visio 2003.l

They live very happily with each other because they are both totally unaware
of the other. p2007 came out after v2003 was released.

Any clever way to get v2003 to recognize 2007 project .mpp files, or must I
buy an upgrade to Visio 2007 for this minor feature to work?

Thanks.

Can you save the Project2007 files in an earlier format to a temporary file (don't
overwrite your original file of course!)?

Actually I think that under the covers it is calling the executable from
p2003. David Parker may have a better answer since he owns the WBS addin.

I did the "save as" a 2003 format .mpp file, but Visio apparently has no way
to understand there is now a 2003 format file it can open----as I still do
not receive the import/export menu under the Timeline main navigation.
Frustrating since my colleagues running Project 2000 and Visio 2000 use this
and it works nicely. Perhaps it would work if I had Project 2003 and Visio
2007. Unfortunately I don't and really don't want to go that route. Please
keep thinking how to make this work---why can't Visio recognize the existence
of Project 2007 on the same system, where does it look to know there is an
instance of Project on the system at all?

Wohoa there partner ... I don't own the Project Import ad-in ... I just
wrote the WBS Modeler add-in (and Microsoft own it)
