Project 2007 vs. Project Pro 2007

I am trying to true up our staff's deployments. Some people have Pro and some
have the "non-pro version." At least I think.

Could somebody post a screenshot of the Help-About screen for each version
so that I can differentiate between Pro and non-pro? For instance, I am
pretty sure most of us have Pro deployed, yet nothing in the App says Project
PRO 2007, only Project 2007.

Brian,

"Office Project Standard 2007 is the latest version of the desktop project
management program. As a stand-alone product, Office Project Standard 2007
helps project managers, business managers, and planners to manage and plan
projects independently with familiar, easy-to-use tools. Office Project
Standard 2007 is not designed to exchange data with Office Project Server
2007.
Office Project Professional 2007 is the desktop client that is also used to
connect with Office Project Server 2007 as part of the Office EPM Solution.
Office Project Professional 2007 offers all the tools found in Office
Project Standard 2007, and when used with Office Project Server 2007, it
also provides powerful EPM capabilities such as collaboration, management of
shared resources, portfolio management, and reporting across projects and
programs run by different project managers."

So...if you don't plan to use the Office Project Server 2007 functionality
install the Standard edition, otherwise install the Professional edition.

We definitely need and use Project Server 2007, so it's Pro that I need. And
that is what is confusing to me - what I believe to be Professional has an
About screen that just says "Microsoft Office Project 2007" which is
confusing to me, although the app allows for connectivity to server.

I guess I'd like to see what the non-pro version's About screen looks like
so that I can tell all of my users to check their install to know which
version they have.

Hi Brian,

The quickest way to determine whether you are running Pro or
Standard -- the Pro version has a "Collaborate" menu -- the Standard
version doesn't.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
