Project 98 quits when creating new task

Let met start to say my experience with Project is very limited :)

One of our clients uses Project 98, they are recently experiencing a
problem with one of their project files. When they create a new task and
copy/paste an existing task to this line, Project quits unexpectedly.

Have any of you guys seen this problem? I haven't been able to find any
relevant information either at support.microsoft.com or groups.google.com.

It's not normal to do this. It could be that the files Windows needs to
manage cut-and-paste (not part of Project) are corrupted or their
versions our out of synch. I guess I would suggest
1. un-intall then install Project
2. if XP or equiv, do a system restore from a date back when there was
no problem.
3. look at how to fix the OS if above doesn't work.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Hello Henrik, hello Rob,

Project 98 had a lot of problems like this one before the SR1 release which
brought a noticeable stability to the product. Try to find this SR1
release...

Gérard,

Thanks for the catch. I forgot about SR-1. I still has system problems
with 98 as NT changed around it. While I didn't say it to Henrik, I
think best advice is to move upgrade to lastest versions and don't even
try to fix these sorts of problems.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

I will give the SR1 a shot and let you know if this resolves the problem.

Until now thanks for your input.
