Project And Lotus Notes

The company is using Lotus Notes for email.

PM assigns task to a team member.

Team member updates the task.

PM checks lotus notes email.

Clicks on the URL. IE pops out. Approves the task.

The system then attempts to open MS Project and fails with the error:
"You need MSProject pro 2002 or MS Project Pro 2003 to perform this action"

If the PM does not go through the email notification route but rather open
IE manually. Goes to the PWA URL and approves the task, everything works
normally.

Any ideas on this one guys?

Is Notes set to open IE inside Notes or in its own window? Does it make a
difference when you change this setting? If so, could security settings in
Notes be involved?
