Folks, one of my clients asked about MSP and Outlook. I'm not an Outlook
user so I can't help. Can you?

Thanks
Mark
===== Question received from client follows =====
I go through a variety of gantt charts every day to see what tasks need to
be completed. Then, I take those tasks, and enter them into my Outlook task
list. To do this I generally copy and paste. It's a pain.

Is there an easy way to "zing" a Project task over to Outlook tasks?

In MS Project 2003, there is no easy way to “zing†project tasks into Outlook tasks. However, if using the Outlook calendar is acceptable to your client, then you can import tasks quite easily. From PWA, download the Outlook add-in. It’s a simple install. Then use the “Import New Assignments†button on the PWA toolbar from Outlook. I suggest you change the import timeframe from internet options, PWA tab. Don’t use the PWA range; use a more narrow range

Hope this helps

I'm sorry to ask this but what is PWA?

Hello Mark,

PWA = Project Web Access
That's a Web interface which allows remote resources (which don't have MS
Project on their PCs) to check their plan in Project Server via Internet
Explorer. They also are able to enter their actual Work via PWA.
