Project Based Integration

OK, not an easy question and there is probably no direct answer. I am an attorney and I need calendar information (dates, deadlines, todos), contact information, e-mails and documents all linked to a project, not a contact. My Office 2000 makes that impossible having only the contact based paradigm (through Outlook Journal)

I can think of thousands of professions that have the same project not contact based paradigm. E.g. architects needing all information on a particular build, tour operators, school administrators, etc. Surely there is some way of making this work in Office

Does anyone have a website or suggestions for where solutions may be found. The legal field has "case management" software that does this crudely and for outrageous costs (and without integrating well with the tool we use most: Office). With all the power of Microsoft I would think they would have an attorney friendly solution.

"Out of the box" I can't think how to make this happen to meet your
expectations. I can easily think of how Office could be configured by
knowledgeable IT professionals (in house or consultants) to do exactly
what you want. If you are in a multi-user collaborative environment
(and the attorneys I know are) the you should take a look at some of the
newer tools, e.g. Sharepoint. I've also observed that legal work are
"projects" there may be a role in using a PM tool like Project. I'm
intrigued that you used this term as some of the attorneys I speak with
were intially shocked at this realisation.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
