Project blank in Project Pro but details shown in PWA

Using Project Pro 2007 and Project Server

I have a project that a project manager saved and published yesterday. The
details of the project plan can be viewed in PWA but when the file is opened
(either through the edit function in PWA or through Project Pro) it comes up
blank - with no tasks.

Has anyone run into this before? Have any suggestions for how to fix it
short of rebuilding the project plan?

Thanks for your help.

Debbie....

sometimes if i open project via edit in project center, project doesn't
directly open.
so you can try like this, in In Project Pro (either through the edit
function in PWA or through Project Pro)
1. Click Open, it will show up Open Dialog Box,
2. Click "Retrieve the list of all projects from Project Server"
3. Double click in file project names that you want to open
4. It will show your project

Hope this help

Sorry I was not clear, when opening the project using Project Pro the project
shows up in the list of projects on the server (click retrieve list and the
project file is there) but when it opens the tasks, resource assignments and
other data are not displayed. But when the project details are viewed in PWA
the tasks, resource assigments, etc. are shown.

Check your filter settings under Project in Pro. It should say All Tasks. I
had a PM that created a custom filter that did just what you describe when
they applied it in Pro.

I am having the same problem and there are no filters on the plan. I did
notice that the Resource Usage view is still working so I can see the list of
resources and their assignments but I get nothing in the Gantt View (or any
task driven view).

The manager of the plan found a way around it... We discovered that it was a
specific task that was causing our problems. Not sure why project was making
all tasks disappear but it did tell us a task had some sort of circurlar
reference. Again, this message should have been received when creating the
task and not when trying to open the plan again (this plan does not have any
external links.

The manager went to the Task Usage Actuals view where they were able to get
back to see all tasks. The task was then deleted and the plan restored.
