Project Calender setup

I believe mine is a simple question, but I still can't seem to figure it out. I am creating a schedule for display purposes only (not creating an advanced schedule by any means). Here's the problem: if I enter in a task duration of 1 month, starting on 1/1/07, Project shows the completetion at 1/26/07. All I want is a task that starts on 1/1/07 and ends on 2/1/07. If I enter in a 12 month task beginning on 1/1/07, Project shows the end date at 11/30/07, when I want a task that starts 1/1/07 and ends 1/1/08. Is there any way to set Project to do this?

Hi,

Not using months. Months by default are a set number of working days (20 I
think). To get what you want use emon - elapsed months - days or weeks.

In Microsoft Project, 1 month = 20 working days. This value is set in
Tools - Options - Calendar. It is the Days Per Month option, which is set
by default at 20 days. If you wish a task to run from 1/1/07 to 2/1/07, you
will need to adjust the task's Duration to the number of working days
between those two dates. As you have discovered, merely entering a Duration
of "1 month" will not address this need. Hope this helps.

Try entering the task durations with the units prefixed with an "E" for
elapsed time. "1 wk" equals 5 working days but "1 ewk" equals 7 calendar
days. Likewise a task with a duration of "1 emon" starting March 1st
finishes March 31st.
