Project cannot open in read/write mode

I have a client with a Project Server instance where all users are getting
the "This project cannot be opened in read-write mode because a previous
checkin for this project is not complete." The resolution to this issue is
to open the project in read mode and close it. When it is opened again, the
project will open in read-write.

This seems to happen everytime one goes to launch Project and open a project
file. When closing down the project, I have watched the status bar to see
that all processes are complete before closing the project. If I close the
project and then open it again, there is no issue but once I exit Project and
then launch Project and try to open the file again, the issue arises again.

Any thoughts?

Hi there,

What would be very helpfull is firstly the version of project Server as well
as the SP levels. Then i am sure you will get better response from this forum

SP2 addresses this issue. We had huge issues with check in / read only prior
and after upgrading, haven't had any since. Good luck!
