Hi David,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I'm no expert on Central as I don't have a server. However, Project 2000
with Project Central was the first version to get Project to work via server
and it has many limitations. Many of thse were overcome in Project 2002
Professional and refined in 2003 Professional to provide an enterprise-wide
solution with Project Server 2003. Unless someone else has experience of
both who would like to step in, I would strongly recommend going for the
latest 2003 version and forget all about Central.

Next time, try posting on the server newsgroup, as this one is closing down!

David:

If you have a copy of Project 2000, you have Project Central. It was a
feebie that shipped on the same installation CD.
