Project Centre - How to connect/synch remotely

Hi, I am trying to work out how to get a remote powerbook user, who is
subscribed to a project, to be able to synchronize over the Internet.

She has no problems with Entourage mail (over IP) but the Project
Centre apparently needs to connect to the file server (MS SBS2003) to
synchronize the shared project. We can't get an AFP connection
remotely - would an SMB work? or would we possibly have to have a VPN
connection?

The simpler the better please!

Either SMB or VPN should work just fine.

The project centre just needs to be able to mount the disk on which the
shared project is stored so it is visible to the File System.
