Project Co-owner

Reuter

Using MSP2003ENT,

Is there a way to make someone a co-owner of a project, establish certain
rights so they can R/W on a specific (not all) projects without being a
resource??? The scenario: The PM's will co-create/own the project then has
their Assistants do all the work. The assistants will not be listed as a
resource.

The only way to make another user a co-owner of a site without directly
making them the "Owner" is to enable to category rule "Allow users in this
category to view all projects in which they are a team member." and to add
them as a team member by adding them to the project's resource sheet via
"Built Team from Enterprise". You do not need to give them any assignments,
just add them to the team.

There are some RBS rules you can use like "Allow users in this category to
view all projects managed by resources that they manage" but this would
require you to use the RBS and also to set the assistant at an RBS level
higher than the PM which wouldn't make sense.

Hi Reuter,

I've had some success by creating a special security category and a special
security group then putting the project and all PM players into the security
group.

Hope this helps,

Reuter:

You can make this happen using custom categories and groups as Crook
suggests. The drill is something like this:

Make the plan available to the assistant to open.
The assistant opens the plan and assigns themselves as status manager on all
or some tasks
They now have a type of co-ownership of the plan
