Project Delay Reflected in Project Duration

I have a project that was delayed by 7 months half way through the project.
When I moved the reamining work out 7 months, the project's new baseline
duration increased by 7 months. How do I factor out the 7 months of down
time out of the duration? I ask this because the baseline duration helps
determine the Planned % complete
