Project doesn't open in MS Project Pro

Probably I would bother Dale again.

I have a problem now with access of one of my project - on which I was
working till yesterday without any problem. Using the MS Project Pro 2003, I
was updating the tasks and few assignments on that project. As the volume was
high - I was changing in small lots and "republishing" the tasks/assignments.
After the last lot of such changes, when I went to "republish" it, it came
back with error - the typical window that ask to "send error report" to
Microsoft. I closed the Project Pro, thinking I would do the leftout job
today. But, today, I am unable to open the project - everytime it comes with
the same error window as was seen yesterday. I collected event logs data as
this operation was failing. Incedentally, I could open the same project in
PWA's "Project Center". I also could open other projects in Project Pro,
without any problem. The event log is listed below, for your study:

from the first event file
===============
File: C:\Office\devsp\project\WebClient\source\utility\pjsmtpemail.cpp
Line: 400
Error Number: 0x8004020d
Description:
Assert Detected. The error code was also
included.

___________________________________

Component: CDO.Message.1
Description:
At least one of the From or Sender fields
is required, and neither was found.

from the second event file
=================
Component: PjSvrUtl
File: C:\Office\devsp\project\WebClient\source\server\pjsvrutl\PjENAgent.cpp
Line: 525
Error Number: 0x8004020d
Description:
Assert Detected. The error code was also
included.

I noticed whenever I try to open this project, two above event messages get
created. How to correct this problem? Please help and I'd try to bother you
as less as possible.

Hi,

I really need your help. I am kind of stuck between choices of waiting for
your answer and of trying to restore the project from the backup. Second
choice is very bad, as due to some other prpblem, we had to restore data only
on last week - users would go nuts, if we have to do it again.

Also, since I can see data in PWA for this project is okay, is there any way
to revamp project data from project server data?

Please response. Thanks in advance.

Syamal,

Here's a workaround that you may follow.

Go to Project Centerin PWA.
Select the project
Click on "Open". It will open the project in MS Project Pro.
You can then save the Project file on your desktop.
This can be ttreated as a new project . Either you can change the name to
something say ver2.0 and ask users to use this project
OR
You should delete the old project from PWA and then rebpulish this project.

Hope it helps
