Project for Macintosh

Does anyone know if Microsoft will make Project available on OSX? Or can
someone tell me what comparable applications are out there that do the same
kind of thing? I need to be able to produce homework assignments that will be
in a format similar to Project. Thanks

As far as I know (things can always change), Microsoft has no plans to
develop a current version of Project for the Mac. However, you have a
couple of options with MS Project. If you only need something for a
homework assignment, the last version of Project for the Mac (4.0) will
most likely do whatever you need and you can very likely get it dirt
cheap on eBay or similar. It will run under Classic in OS X. If you need
details, write me direct.

Another option (the one I use) is to run current versions of Winndows
based Project via Virtual PC. This will give you all the whistles and
bells of current Project versions but it will most likely cost more and
probably is overkill for your needs.

I believe there are one or more schedule based applications for the Mac
but I really don't know what they are. You might try searching Google
sites for newsgoups on the Mac or even try a post to our sister
newsgroup: Microsoft.public.mac.otherproducts
