Project Global.MPT Slowness on Close

We just updated our Project 2007 environment (client/server) to SP2 and the
August CU. On a few client machines we notice slowness when you close the
Project Pro 2007 client as it saves the Global.MPT file. This was
non-existent prior to the upgrade and now appears on about 25% of the
machines in our environment. Anyone else seen this before? Please advise -

I haven't seen your exact circumstances, however I have had similar issues
with the local client configuration causing strange problems.

The solution I have used is to simply remove the local copy of the
Global.MPT file. That should not cause you any problems as it is only a
cached copy which should be updated on next connection to the server anyway.
(AFAIK)

The file can be found in the user profile folder, something like:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MS Project\12\1033

Just back it up then delete it on one of the affected clients to test.
