Project has two names

Dear All, I'm in a bit of a pickle.

I used the project renamer tool to replace an '&' with and in a project, and
it appeared to work. The PM tried to update some time recently, and got the
"name changed, cannot update" message. So, I went into project renamer, and
tried to rename the project, but it wasn't having any of it - told me that
project name already existed!

Next, I went into the project, and the top line of the project included
several versions of the name one after the other. I deleted those that were
unnecessary, and then saved the project. At this point the spooler started
giving me grief, and is currently still blinking at me. The application event
log messages are below.

Help will be greatly appreciated - I cannot rename the project and I cannot
undo the action in the spooler, which leaves me in a catch 22 kind of limbo.

First of all you must have the PM accept or reject all updates for the
project that you are going to rename. If you don't all updates will be lost,
can't update the project.

I would try to run the project delete duplicate projects tool. form the url
below.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the suggestion. I've downloaded the tool, but may not need to use
it this time round. I checked through all of the tables in the Projectserver
database, and the MSP_WEB_PROJECTS table had not had the name of the project
changed. So in all of the other tables the project was:

OMAN01 Creation and Informing Management of Qurm Reserve Oman

but in the MSP_WEB_PROJECTS table it had remained unchanged as:

OMAN01 Creation & Informing Management of Qurm Reserve Oman

Strange no? Anyway, I changed the name in the table, and it seems to be
sorted now. The updates went through successfully, the project has been
renamed again, and published to death to ensure no future problems
(hopefully).
