Project Links in SharePoint

Michael

I am using Project 2007 and SharePoint Services 3.0.

When I create a link from my home page to a Project 2007 file and try to
open it, the file opens up within the browser. It does not open the program
itself, so that I have access to all of the toolbars. If I create a link to a
Word or Excel document, they seem to work fine.

Is there a way to use a link such that it will open the Project program and
the file at the same time?

This is all controlled by Windows on your computer. I don't have Vista
handy to look, but in XP in Windows Explorer, Menu: Tools/Folder
Options, Tab: File Types. There, check out how XLS files are setup
(which you say work as expected), and then do same for MPP files.

Rob,

I am using XP. I did go to the File Types as you explained and the Project
files were set up just like the Excel files. I upgraded to 2007 from 2003
about 6 months ago and I thought it might have a broken link. I repointed it
to the 2007 exe file, but that didn't work either.

Is there anything else I might try?

Thanks for the help,

Michael
