******* Project locked.. ******

Frustrated

Ive created several procedures within a "Utils" module in
my Normal.Dot, working fine. Got buttons on toolbars etc,
suddenly last week when trying to edit my code got
the message "Project unviewable" & "Project Locked".

I have not locked my project, my toolbar buttons still
work, and I can call the Subs from other procedures in
other Doc.Modules, but can't access my original code..?

does anybody have any suggestions, rather then re-writing
the procedures again from scratch...?(Should've made a
backup or export.
Tried writing a utility sub to export modules as .bas, but
cant access as is locked.!

Ive searched the MS KB.. Any assit, would be greatly
appreciated.

Try this:

To view the VBProject object in the object browser, you must select the
Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Extensibility check box in the
References dialog box (Tools menu) in the Visual Basic Editor.

If it works, don't thank me, I got this as a reply to a message I posted
(See the thread called Project Locked - Project is Unviewable).

Don't know anything about the "Extensibility", when I had this problem
it was because I'd created/protected my project using Office 2000 and
attempted to edit it under Office '97.
I would, however, offer a strong caution about putting your projects in
the "Normal" template.
It's *NOT* a good idea, if the template becomes corrupted/unusable, for
whatever reason (and there's plenty), Word will spontaneously create a
new one and all your hard work will be for naught.
I typically put my utility type projects in another document and put it
in the Startup folder so that the macro's etc are available when I'm in
the application.

i don't know i f this will help,
but it worked for me.
for a reason i don't know,
the winword.exe get stuck, and the process is active after u close the
word application.

after i end the process and re-open word,
the project is not closed.

hope this helps.
