Project lockout

Is there a way to prompt the PM frequently to save their project before
timing out and then causing the project to be "checked-out" It requires the
admin to check the project back in.

I believe this is basically a Microsoft Project Professional tool use
methodology issue that you need to address with your project managers. If
they leave a project open for too long and then become locked out of the
project, you should teach them how to check in their own checked out project
themselves (assuming you are using Project Server 2003). Tell them to
navigate to the Project Center page in PWA and click the Check in my
projects link in the sidepane on the left. From that point forward, insist
that they check in their own checked out projects themselves. Hope this
