Project Manager is not getting the approvals of one resource in PS 2003

Hi

Project manager is not getting the approvals of a resource. Previously, PM
has approved the hrs of that resource.

Now the thing is, the resource is updating the hours but the PM is not
getting the approvals.

Please suggest what can be done to resolve this.

There are a couple of things the PM might try. For one, he/she should open
an enterprise project in which the resource is assigned at least one task,
and then click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise. In the dialog, is the
resource set as Committed in the project? If not, the PM should set the
resource as Committted, click the OK button, and then click Collaborate -
Publish - All Information.

If the above does not help, then the PM might try the following:

1. Open a project in which the resource is assigned to at least one task.
2. Click View - Resource Usage.
3. Select the tasks assigned to the resource in question.
4. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments.
5. Select the "Become the manager for these assignments" option.
6. Click the OK button.

The PM would need to repeat the above steps for each project in which the
resource is assigned at least one task. Let us know if this helps.

Hi Dale

I got the resolution. The problem is the resource clicks on "Save changes",
but not clicking "Update all".

I opened his timesheet by taking project server authentication and clicked
on "Update all". Once I did that, the manager got the approvals of that
resource.

Thanks for digging a little deeper to solve your problem. This proves why
team members need at least minimal training on how to use Project Server.
