I downloaded groove 2007 beta, i do not see a project or task manager. Is
there one available?

The tools - "Task Manager" and "Advanced Project Toolset" have been removed
from Groove 2007. For detail information, please refert to the Help content
aobut "What's new in this release of Microsoft Office Groove" in Groove 2007.

To manager your project more efficiently in Groove 2007, I recommend you to
use the TeamDirection Project tool and the TeamDirection Dashboard tool.

Note: the new version of TeamDirection Project tool for Groove 2007 is not
available now. Please wait for the new version of TeamDirection Project
(version 4.0.*.*)

TeamDirection is busily working on the Beta release that works with both
Groove 2007 and SharePoint 2007. Should be any day now.

In the meantime, you can take a look at this page

as it contains the workspace template we will be using. It has a simple task
list that our tool will be integrating with, very similar to the SharePoint
task list.
