Project Managers in different domain than Project Server

Hi,

I have a Project Server 2003 system in domain 'B' and project managers in
corp domain 'A'. There is no trust between the domains.

Project Managers need to launch Project Pro 2003 while logged onto their
workstations with their corp domain 'A' user name. I created domain 'B'
accounts for each PM and those work fine for windows authentication with
Project Web Access. However, Proj Pro, collaboration options shows the
windows account as corp domain A\username, and they get 'access denied' when
they try to log into project server.

Can I configure Project Pro to use their dom 'B' accounts? I don't want
them to use project server accounts.

Thanks,
Cam

Hi Cam,

First of all, I am upgrading my machine, so bare with me if my instructions
are not exact, but I think you will get the idea).

Publishing actually uses a folder on your Project Server called the ViewDrop
folder. Find this in the IIS Virtual Root folder in your Project Server
installation folder.

Give rights to those people in Domain B to the ViewDrop folder
(right-click->permissions). Try giving them full access as a test, but I
think Read/Write access is all they need. Please note, this *not* a share
you are setting up, just access permissions.

Give it a shot and let me know how it turns out.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the help. Another thread mentioned using the password management
feature of WinXP. I tried that yesterday and that solves the access denied
problem for XP. But I have a couple of users on Win 2000 so I'll try your
suggestion with one of them later today.

Thanks!
Cam
