Hi,
A number of posters recently have wanted a way to consolidate multiple
projects. I've written a simple macro that prompts the user for a folder
then Consolidates all .mpp files in that folder into a new Project.
Visit http://www.msproject-systems.com/Consolidate.htm and download the
project file - use is free but any modifications you might want may need to
be charged for!!
Press Ctrl+m to run the macro, it will ask you to browse to a folder with
your .mpp files
A new file will be created that has a copy of all tasks in each project.
There are no links to the original files (so eliminating any chance of
corruption) and all assignments for each resource will also have been
consolidated.
As usual running the macro on a backup copy of your projects is recommended.
Use of the macro is entirely your responsibility and no liability can or is
assumed by me.
Save a copy of the consolidation weekly for a regular audit trail of your
program of projects.
This is a simple and neat tool that helps demonstrate the power of Project
VBA.
