Project name,id link between Reporting and WSS_Content db

Avi

Hi,

I am trying to create a custom SRS report out of Project server 2007.
I am primarily working on the reporting db but need to pull some data
out of the WSS_CONTENT db. I want to pull data based on Project
name. I do not seem to find the Project name field on the WSS_Content
db. What other Project field (id etc.) can I use to tie the two db
(reporting & wss_content) data together?

Hope I am clear. Please let me know.
Thanks for your help in advance,

Avi

Hi Avi,

Generally you should not touch the wss database directly. Microsoft does not
support direct access to the database, but only via web service. We had to
custom develop a web service integration tool between reporting services and
wss to run reports like this. There are some 3rd party products out there
which allow you to do so.

I hope this helps

Thank you Marc for your reply. I am fairly new to the custom
reporting environment for PS2007. Do you have some pointers as to
what alternative solution exists for me to include data from WSS which
is not part of the reporting db? At present, I am after survey data
from the team workspace sites.
Regards,
Avi

Hi Avi,

I know of a third party product from France, but cant think of the name. I
amsure if you write "WSS reporting services extender" into google you shouldl
get some hits.
Hope this helps
