Project on Apple Mac via Windows Emulation?

R

Rob Schneider

I probably am going to have to buy a new laptop today. I'm toying with
the idea of getting an Apple Mac and run Windows in emulation (VMWare).
Like many I can't get away (nor want to) get away from Windows. But I'm
attracted to the Mac for different reasons.

Anyone here running Project with this setup? Am I just creating problems
for myself?

I've done it and it is not a problem.
Windows emulation on current generation macs is quite speedy - I run WinXP
though, not Vista.
Win 7 would probably be better than vista too...

Rob,
I'm a Mac user. Currently I have an IMac running Leopard and I use
Parallels (www.parallels.com) version 3.0 for my Windows emulation. I've
experienced no problems running Project and macro execution is fast.

As an Project MVP I need to be able to run various versions of Project
and multiple virtual machines allow me to do that, although not
simultaneously. I have no experience with VMWare but I assume it would
perform similarly to Parallels.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to Jack and John ... got Mac Book and loading it up now! Thanks!
Picked VMWare (as that is what they had in stock) with XP Pro.
