Project Plan Changes

I have created a project plan using Microsoft Office Project Professional and
assinged independent task to a resource. When the resource fills timesheet
work hrs against the task e.g resource A is assigned 10days of work and A has
submitted 3 days of task. The start date and end date for the task
changes(which is not desired. any other way to keep it not changing ). After
submission the task update goes to manager for approval. Before approving the
task update, task which are not dependent on this task are also getting
changed in the preview of the project plan. Why are the task are not
dependent are getting changed?. does the change of start date and finish date
affects?

Please help..............
