Project Plan Consolidation

I have 3 project files ( not different versions) that reflect the same
project. I would like to consolidate them keeping the info in tact as well as
keep track of the changes. The first file is the project plan at the
beginning of the project. The second one serves as an interum plan and the
final one is the plan after project completion.

How can i consolidate all three into one while preserving the changes and
commiting the baseline data. There are also task changes that i would like to
track as well.

Anyone's feedback is highly appreciated.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why you would want to merge these
three projects into one. Doesn't your final project contain all of the
changes made during the life of the project? What do the other two versions
contain that the final version does not?

Anyway, if what you really want to do is consolidate all three plans into
one, there is no easy way to accomplish this. At a minimum, you can see the
differences between the three projects by doing the following:

1. Open two of the projects
2. Click View - Toolbars - Compare Project Versions
3. Click the Compare Project Versions button and follow the steps indicated

Hope this helps.

Mr Howard,

Thank you for your response. I was handed 3 files as different versions but
they were prepared independently and seperately from scratch. I would like to
upload 1 file representing all 3 into project server for further analysis.

The first file has the original plan and tasks assigned to certain
resources. The second file has major task changes and resource reallocation
but lacks some actual start and finish times. The third file has identical
tasks as the second but holds complete actual start and finish times but
doesnt have the baselines. Should i simply add this info to file 3?

Thanks for the explanation. I now understand the origin of these three
files. The best way to handle this is to use version #2 and enter the
Actual Start and Actual Finish dates to the plan. Hope this helps.
