Project Portfolio Server 2007: Attributes

When adding a project in Project Portfolio Server...

How do you add list selections to the detail boxes on the Project Info page
for the Project Initiators, Project Managers, and Contributors fields?

I can't find these attributes in the Attribute Management settings.

I just ran into the same thing. I played around with it and found I could
populate these lists by creating a User Group for each list.

I created one group called Contributors (note - group name is plural) and
another named Initiators (note - group name is plural, and is just
"Initiators", not "Project Initiators")

Thanks. I had figured most of this out thru trial and error. Apparently, as
far as I can tell, a user cannot be a member of more than one group (without
setting up some sort of pseudonym).

Have you had any luck in determining how to designate which fields appear on
the Project Info tab in Builder. I think it is buried somewhere in Attributes
but I haven't been able to find it.

This is one of the most poorly documented apps I've seen.

I believe that when you are defining the attribute there is a "Info" check
box on the lower portion of the "Edit Atrribute" window.

I am taking the EPMU online PPS class next week. Hopefully, I can learn
more about it.

That EPMU course is a good one. I wish I would have worked with PPS before I
took it, so I could have had questions ready for the class. Our instructor
was very helpful at answering any questions we had for him, and has even
answered questions of mine via email after the class.

It is A LOT of material to cover in the time alotted, so make sure you block
off time with no distractions, and that you make time to do the lab work
outside of the course.

I have not yet worked with the Project Info tab, but if I find out, I'll post
up.

The "Builder" check box on the upper left of the "Edit Attribute" window
controls whether or not the attribute shows on the Project Info tab.

I've tried that but PPS will not let me remove attributes already present on
the Project Info tab. For example, I've tried to remove Business Need by
unchecking the Builder box. Doesn't work. PPS insists that the Builder box be
checked for Business Needs. You can uncheck it but when you go back and
verify it is checked again.

I'm also taking the PPS course in mid May. Hope it's good as it's about all I
have to work with.
