Project Portfolio Server Project Data Import

Friends,

This may not be the place to post this, but I cannot seem to find a
Project Portfolio Server newsgroup. So, here goes...

In Portfolio Server 2007, I’m attempting to perform a data import
within Portfolio Server (Builder | Settings | Data Transfer | Project
Data Import) via the Data Transformation Services Import Wizard.

The first time I tried this, I received an error that the Visual Basic
for Apps project object model was not trusted, which I promptly fixed
in all the Office 2007 apps.

Since then, although I ensure that all required fields are accounted
for and mapped, each time I’ve tried (first time with all Import
entries selected and this time selecting only the first one), the
screen freezes and there are no error messages / warnings of any kind.

I really don’t know where to start to diagnose this. Any
suggestions?

I'd sure appreciate it.

Best,
Andy Novak

I was playing w/ a dev environment today, and had exactly the same issue.

I went back to an older environment which did not have SP1 installed, and
it worked no problem.

Guess it may be an SP1 issue?

I got the answer from a colleague and its simple AND an SP1 issue.
You MUST Check the “Save imported settings as” checkbox in the bottom
of the screen before clicking Finish.

That does the trick.

Thanks,
Andy
