Project Pro 2003 connection problem to Project Server 2003

I can't even connect to http://server/projectserver/ locally on the server.

The database is working. The projectserver directory exists, but I keep
getting 500 or 404 error messages.

Permissions all seem okay, but no luck.

Followed the Single COmputer Installation guide very carefully.

Hi

Just figured this out - you must go the Sharepoint Services page:

Windows SharePoint Services
Virtual Server Settings

Under Virtual Server Management, select "Define Managed Paths" and then
enter the path of your project server - as an "Excluded path" (normally just
enter projectserver if you made a default install.

Then you should be able to connect to the Project Web access,

Thanks, but I have a different problem than you had. I checked your solution
and already have the entry.

Have you got port 1433 open to the outside world? You can't make a
connection to the database if you don't. Opening this port to the world is a
huge mistake and you'll find the performance of Project unacceptable.
Consider terminal services or Citrix.

Thanks for the response. I think we tried that but I will check again. The
client has a Cisco VPN solution in place and and for security reasons I have
recommended they use it many times. For some reason they are resisting.
