Dear NG,

Due to a "clean" reinstall of Vista, I had to reinstall Office Enterprise
2007. All of the basic programs loaded just fine from DVD Part No:
X13-35827 EN. I then loaded Visio Pro 2007 from DVD Part No: X13-38154 EN.
But when I went to load Project Pro 2007 from the same disk I received an
error dialog box: Locate your earlier version of Microsoft Office. Setup
can't find a version of Microsoft Office on your computer.

Office is clearly there as I use it every day. Any idea what I am doing
wrong?

TIA,

Bob

I am having the same issue after the same steps taken. Clean install of Win
VISTA ULT 32 bit with Office Enterprise 2007. But I recall having the same
issue in the past and just thought that it was me but I really need Proj Mgr
now and cannot install.

This is still an issue. I got the following reply from Microsoft:

"We apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing with Windows
Vista Business with SP1. At this time, technical support is not included as
a benefit to the Microsoft Action Pack Subscription, and we are unable to
provide any type of technical support.

In order to obtain paid technical support, please contact the following
number:

I do not think a failure to load is a "support" issue and told them so. I
would love to hear from a Microsoft employee or a MVP about whether I
deserve help with this issue.

TIA,

Bob

I got a work around.

Download the trial version and use your PID code. It worked for me.

Hi NG,

MAPS saw the logic in my appeal and they are sending me a new complete copy
of MS Project Pro. Sluggofish's suggestion would probably work as the
reason for the failure was the material on my DVD was an update only. By
downloading the complete program we could have had good results, however,
since MAPS will send a new disk, I will wait for it to arrive.

Thanks,

Bob

Had same problem w/ Action Pack media, X13-38154 EN. Had Vista64 installed
w/ O2K7 Ent. Project 2K7 looking for previous install. Downloaded trial,
entered MY Action pack PID key and all is well.

I was having similar issues with the MS Project Pro install. I can confirm
that downloading the trial version of Project Pro and entering your PID does
work as a workaround.
