Project Pro 2007 not recognized

From Project Center, I receive the follwoing message upon selecting the Edit
button of my project: "Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007 is
required for this action. Ensure that your copy of Project Professional 2007
can connect to this
server. If both of these conditions are true and you still get this
message, contact your system administrator for assistance."
Both are true. In fact, I can open my project from Pro. The URL used to
access PWA is identical to the URL used in the Project Server login account
in Project Professional 2007.
This used to work fine until I was given a new laptop.
My laptop also does not think I have 2007 installed. If I try to open an
offline project by browsing, I get a message saying it was saved in a newer
version. I have to open Pro 2007 and then open the project through that. I
think this may be a Project Pro installation issue.
