Project Pro 2007 Toolbar Positions

Gary Zag

Toolbar positions are not saved when Project Pro 2007 is closed. I put 3
short toolbars on 1 row. When I close the application and launch it they go
back to 3 seperate rows.

Any fix?

Gary,

Were you able to figure out how the toolbar positions are controlled? I am
experiencing the same problem and although I have tried several things I
can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks,
Sam

No this is still an issue for me.

My company's product adds a toolbar button to Microsoft Project.

We investigated in detail how to get the toolbar button to "stick" in a
given location from session to session. Our conclusion was that it could
not be done - MSP (and I think all MS Office applications) does not remember
the location of toolbar buttons (especially add-on buttons like ours). It's
how the MS software is designed. It's a bit aggravating to not have full
control, but that seems to be the way it is.

If you find some way to do this, please post back to this newsgroup!

Sam/Gary/John,
I must be missing something. I just opened Project 2007 Pro, created a
little one button toolbar for one of my macros, then exited out of
Project. When I re-started Project, the custom toolbar was right where I
left it. I then moved the custom toolbar to its own separate row, closed
out of Project. Again when I re-started Project, the toolbar was right
where I last moved it - on its own separate row.

It took some time but I finally figured this one out. There is a difference
in how the toolbars are controlled depending on whether or not you are
connected to another computer running Project Server.

If you are connected to Project Server you must follow the additional steps
at: http://www.pmresourcegroup.com/TechTips.htm#pprotoolbar under the "Q3 '05
Tech Tip: Setting the Toolbar Locations in Project Pro 2003" section.

Happy programming everyone :)
