I have installed Project Server and WSS in one server.
Now, I want to connect Project Pro in my PC to Project server.
I go to tool-options-collaboration then i try input
'http://10.0.10.75/projectserver' but then after press Test Connection
button, it display error message :

Unexpected server response.
Project Server has returned unexpected server response.
Click the 'View' button to view the server response as an error page in your
browser.

I have put http://10.0.10.75' in trusted site in Internet Options and set
the Level to Low but still got problem.
Please guide.
Thanks.

Hi Gazairi,
you will need to establish the connection first, before you are able to
collaborate with Project Server. This is how you do it:
- open project professional
- go to tools > Enterprise options > Microsoft Project Server account
- a dialog window will appear. Click the add button and fill out the
relevant informaion ( this is where you will need your URL.
Test the connection ( please note you will have to have Project Server
credentials with the logon you have)
Once you establish the connection, you will need to close Project
Professional and reopen it. Connect to Project Server and you will be able to
use the collaboration functionality.
I hope this helps

Hello,

Thanks for your answer. However, I need more clarification.
You mentioned ( please note you will have to have Project Server
credentials with the logon you have)
). So that means my Windows UserID(client PC with Project Pro) must get
permission from Project Server server right? That means in Project Server
server, in IIS, I need to give permission for ProjectServer virtual directory
to my UserID right(client userID).The problem is Project Server server is
located in different domain and clients in different domain. Should I locate
them in same domain? This is because I cannot add user during give permission
for ProjectServer (in IIS).

Please guide.
Thank you.

Hi Gazairi,

I think it is important that you will need to read the installation and
administration guide from Project Server 2003. It will give you details on
how to use the system. I assume that you have not used Project Server 2003
before.

You may find the follwoing link usefull. It gives you the installation guide
of project server. Please note at the bottom of the Web page are related
links wich will guide you to the configuraiton and planning guide etc.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e3-0478-4ac3-a230-c4f2d82096c1&DisplayLang=en

I would suggest that you read this first before you attemt to use Project
Server. In answer to your question, you will need to give Project Server your
user credentials based on your Windows authentification. Project Server will
take care of the rest. You do not need to do anything within IIS in regards
to your user.
I hope this helps
