Project Pro changing scheduled work

Andrew Curtis

Hey!

We have setup hammock tasks in our projects, the problem is when we load the
project in Project Pro it overwrites our scheduling for each task with
180'ish hours a month (tasks are viewed monthly) until the project finish
date.

I noticed that when i load the project if i say No to re-eastblishing the
Links then project does not change my scheduling, but if i select yes it
changes them all to 180'ish.

***Task Name | StartDate | FinishDate***
Project Start | 17/03/06 | 17/03/06 < Start of hammock source
Task 1 | 17/03/06 | 28/12/07 <== Hammock task
Task 2 | 17/03/06 | 28/12/07 <== Hammock task
Task 3 | 17/03/06 | 28/12/07 <== Hammock task
.... etc
Project End | 28|12|07 | 28/12/07 <= End of hammock source

I have made sure that 'Tasks are effort driven' and 'Tasks will always honor
their constraint dates' are unticked which i understood to be the way to stop
project scheduling ahead. The reason we have all tasks setup this way is
because the projects we work on generally do not have a set length.

Its probally something obvious that I am missing, im not particually
knowledgable in Project Pro so im trying to work this out as I go.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Andrew,

It is quite confusion. Is it possible you can email me the project at
(e-mail address removed). I can look at the project and can recommend you a solution.

Thanks
