Project Pro Crashing after installing Project Server SP2

Hey all

Just some info on a problem i had and the solution

Problem: We are running Project Server SP1 and Project Pro SP2 with no
issues,
I upgraded our installation of Project Server from SP1 to SP2 after this
when Project Pro tried to connect to Project Server Project Pro would crash.
Microsoft Error Reporting would come up, and offer to restart the program, if
restart chosen it would get to the same place and crash again, this would
keep looping.

Solution: I uninstalled Project Pro, reinstalled it, installed Office 2003
SP2, then Project SP2.

Issue solved, Project Pro works fine connecting to Project Server. I am not
sure if it was that I installed Project Pro SP2 before Project Server SP2 or
if Office SP2 was also needed, but its working now anyway :D

I hope this helps someone...

Thanks for sharing this. I can't help but wonder if forcing a reinstall of
the Project Active X components might have had the same effect. Did you try
this?

I encountered the same problem and deleted the Downloaded prj files hoping
to correct the problem, it resulted in the EULA looping. I eventually
uninstalled project server and MS Project Pro, reinstalled it, applied SP1
then SP2 with the same result, MS Project Pro kept closing with the same
error message.

I'll try the steps recommended though I've just sent an msg to the newsgroup
describing the same problem.

No i didnt think of force-reinstalling the Project ActiveX Components, If i
had needed to how would I have gone about this?

I found for the problem I had that I only had to re-install Project Pro,
Project Server was left alone...

So it seemed to me to be a Project Pro issue...

Essentially, delete them forcing the reinstall.
