Project Professional Upgrade from Project Standard- 2007

Hi,
If we have Project Standard 2007 do you know the best way to upgrade to Pro
2007?
Do we have to buy Pro 2007 and also Server 2007 or do these come together?
I want the ability to track multiple projects and also have some of my team
acces the projects and update their progress on line? Is this the server
edition or do we also need web access?
What do I need to buy?
I work in IT and manage multiple projects. Currently I use Project Standard
but I really want a more robust program which will allow better
tracking/managemet and reporting.
Kind regards,
Ross

Re the product bit; there might be licencing deals available for standard to
pro upgrades (ie a deal available) but you would need to ask your LAR (large
account reseller). In technical terms, there isn't an upgrade as such from
std to pro, they are separate products. Pro does not come with server,
again, they are separate products that work together (think about Outlook and
Exchange).

To manage multiple projects, certainly Server will allow this, but then so
will Project standard if you use Master projects. As shared resource pool
can be handled too; implementing a good EPM system is more about the process
than the technology, so start with the business issues 1st and then bring in
the technology 2nd..., maybe you can get away with Std and WSS...
Ben is right. First decide, do you really need to maintain projects in
a centralised place, if yes then go for Project Server 2007. In order
to access projects reside on Project Server 2007, you must need MS
Office Project 2007 Professional Edition as Standard Edition cannot
connect to project server.
