Project/Programme Office

Hi

I have been seconded onto a Project for the next 7 months to run the
Programme/Project Office. This is a whole new but exciting project
that I am looking forward to doing but a little scared as it is unknown
territory. I am using Microsoft Project and seem to be getting on ok
with it, but my problem is I am not sure exactly what data I need in
the MS Project File with regards to Programme/Project Office. I am
assuming that I need to monitor the whole of the Project streams and
make sure that they are achieved on time and to budget.

Is there a template that I could download that is in MS Project that
can give me the start that I need? I have been surfing the net for a
while and not coming up with much I am afraid. The streams that I will
be looking at are

Finance
Data
Training
Service
Procurement

A template to start me off in the right direction would be great

Thanks

Hi Muddypaws ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I don't think you're likely to find such a template. In my view, the best
bet is to gather a few of your experts and have a think tank session to
identify all the necessary tasks. However, there are some templates
available - try File/New... and you can select from the template list on the
left (version 2003).

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
