Project PWA - Turn on Adjust Actuals

M

Mark Oberg

How do I allow resources to update their actual work hours
on PWA? I have clicked through every admin option an
cannot find anything. I, as the administrator, cannot
adjust my actual work on task assigned to me !!

Thanks,
Mark

I wanted to clarify. I want to be able to input that I
worked on a particular task for 2 hours on 10/6/2004.
That portion of the timesheet does not allow me to input
any time.

Thanks again,
Mark

Mark,
To enter actuals, users must be in the Tasks menu,
the "Timesheet" view, and they must enter their hours
under the correct day on the right-hand part of the
display. They can't update the Actual Work column on the
left. They can only update Remaining Work, such as when a
task has taken more or less time than expected.

Also, in addition to the "Adjust Actuals" and "View Adjust
Actuals" permissions, you must also look at whether you
are using "Managed Time Periods" (Admin - Customize
Project Web Access). Although for the same day, that
shouldn't matter.

Could you clarify what role you are trying and what
menu/view you are using?

Rather than committing to maintain an MSProject-based timesheet
application for the rest of your life, why not install the free one
from http://journyx.com/newsg?
It's web-based, tracks time, expenses and mileage - automates payroll,
billing and project management, and it's free. IT talks to MSProject

Mark --

You must change the default method of tracking progress in Project Server to
enter actuals in the daily timesheet portion of the View my tasks page. To
do so, complete the following steps:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Customize Project Web Access
3. In the first section, select the "Hours of work done per day or per
week" option
4. In the second section, select the "Force project managers to use..."
option
5. In the third section, select the "Resources should report their hours
worked every day" option
6. Click the Save Changes button

Once you have completed the above steps, you will need to ask your project
managers to open EVERY project and to click Collaborate - Publish -
Republish Assignments to "push" the new method of tracking to each user's
timesheet in PWA. Hope this helps.
