Project Server 2000 Inquiry

Hello,

We have an existing MS Project 2000 Server box in test. The gentleman who
set it up and administered it left the company last week without leaving
admin passwords, config info, etc. We're thinking of simply rebuilding the
server. I have a few questions related to that.

Can I install Windows Server 2003 as the OS?
We have a number of projects created, how do I insure that I won't lose
those and can have them back up and running after the new server comes up?
With respect to Project Server 2003, I understand there is no beta available
for that, does anyone know if their will be a smooth migration path from
2000 to 2003?

Regards

URL for installing PS2002 on Windows 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;319281

note: PS2002 won't work with SharePoint V2, don't bother.

If you want keep at your projects and info to date, you
should create backups of the 2 databases (projectserver
and "servername"_LM_W3SVC_x_Collab) using the SQL
Enterprise Manager. Once the new server is created,
restore these databases.

Rumor has it there will be a migration tool available when
Microsoft Office Project 2003 is released later this year
(hopefully)
