I have read the question on the board here but have not seen good feedback. I
have read Gary's book "Implementing Enterprise Portfolio Management with
Microsoft Project Server 2002" and followed instructions to no avail.
We are upgrading our hardware and before they let us upgrade to PS 2003 they
want us to successfully install PS 2002 and migrate existing data (don't ask).
The issue at hand is that even after triple checking all security components
and verifying all requirements (as stated in referenced book) the
installation rolls back after completing database script 11 of 11.
The only real difference between our configurations and that of the one in
the book is that the book makes reference to Windows 2000 SP2 and we are
installing on a Windows 2002 SP4 box. I read that SP3 gave serious issues and
am now wondering if SP4 also creates issues with PS2002.
Any ideas? Has anyone come across this before?
Sincerely,
A very frustrated IT dude... =)
