Project Server 2003 and Portfolio Server 2007?

I have a working instance of Project Server 2003 on one server and now want
to install Project Portfolio Server 2007 and SQL Server 2005 on a different
server.

Can Portfolio Server 2007 connect to a Project Server 2003 instance? The
instrructions for Portfolio Server only reference a Project Server 2007
gateway, not a 2003 gateway.

No there is no backward compatiblility with Project Server 2003 from
Portfolio Server 2007.
