Project Server 2003 and Project Professional 2003

We just purchased Project Server 2003, and I was under the
impression that we didn't need Project Professional to
create projects. Is this false, because i've read in
documentation that we do need project professional in
order to create projects and publish them.

Hi Scott,

yes, you need Project Pro in order to create projects. Every Project Manager
needs Project Pro.

However you can also create projects programmatically via XML/SOAP through
Project Data Services (PDS).

I think you were misled. I don't think there's much that
Project Server can do without Project Professional to
create-save-publish projects. Maybe what they meant was
that not all of the users have to have Project
Professional - some will just use Project Web Access. But
at least one person has to have Project Professional.
