Project Server 2003 and Sharepoint 2000

Good morning;

We are trying to setup Project Server 2003 and link it to SPS 2000 and when
completing the wizard, it is not continuing beyond the connection. We can
ping the SPS server(located out on the WAN), but Project server cannot
connect.

Any thoughts??
