Project Server 2003 and SharePoint 2003

R

Roger

I currently have 4 servers in a server farm for Project
Server 2003 and SharePoint intergration. Project server
is setup on one server -- SharePoint on another -- SQL
2000 on a cluster. This is all running on Windows 2003
platform in a AD Domain. I created a seperate user for
SharePoint and Project Server.

SharePoint -- I setup a seperate web site under IIS (ex.
project) with it own IP address 10.10.1.20. I created a
seperate group with Project and SharePoint user as local
administrator (If you set it up as the doc states with
only Power User access -- WSSWIZ.exe will fail) In
SharePoint I extended it under Virtual Server. I then
ran WSSWIZ.exe which saw the the virtual server "Project"
and installed. When completed it shows the name of the
SharePoint server and the port #. It also states that a
top level url created at http://proj.domain.com/sites.

Project Server -- I connect to the Project Web Access
page and log in as administrator. Select the Admin
button on the top left. I then select "Manage Windows
SharePoint Services".
* SharePoint Central Admin URL: http://servername:1111 --
Test URL works
* Create a site under this SharePoint URL:
http://servername/sites -- Verified
MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments page displays correctly.

When I select " Save Changes " I get a message

"Project Server cannot connect to the specified Web
server running Windows SharePoint Services. Please check
the HTTP protocols and the port numbers in both URLs."

I verified everything and I can't get pass this point.
What can I do to resolve this issue or what do I need to
troubleshoot. I have made sure the user rights are
correct and the information is correct. The url is in
DNS and I can connect via my browser.

HELP!!!!

Roger:

It sounds like the order you chose to do things may have skipped running the
proxycfg.exe utility on Project Server. You must set these settings for the
system to connect to SharePoint, wh.ether or not you have a proxy server in
your environment. Refer to the installation guide for running the utility
